The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has changed the Sehat Card Plus Scheme
and turned it into a large social health security package through the opening of a
number of initiatives for the public. The countrified Chief Minister, Mahmood Khan,
chaired a meeting to review matters pertaining to changes in health coverage
under the Sehat Card Plus Scheme. During this meeting, he chose to launch a top-
up program to accommodate special medical treatment units to both government
employees and the global public. According to an official handout, the CM has
decided to cover liver and bone marrow transplants under the system across the
region. He has decided to increase the annual health coverage for the residents of
the tribal districts to Rs. 1 million from Rs. 0.6 million per family under the scheme.
The government will also ensure the timely payments of funds to the designated
hospitals and will monitor the entire method through a third body to give quality
treatment to patients in addition to overseeing the facilities The meeting was
accompanied by the Provincial Minister for Health, Taimur Saleem Jhagra, the
Chairman State Life Insurance Corporation, Shoaib Hussain, the Secretary Health, Imtiaz Hussain, and others.
