Design & Display
Samsung Galaxy F12 has the same design and dimensions as the Galaxy M12, which
isn’t a bad thing after all. The phone is a tad chunky but still feels distinctive and we
quite like the simple yet classic finish of the back panel. There are four cameras on
the rear encased in a square-shaped module that sits almost flush with the phone.
The capacitive fingerprint reader on the left edge is easily available and works
reliably. The phone is entirely made of plastic and a bit heavy at 221 gram. That’s
understandable since the major contribution to the heft comes from the massive
6000mAh battery. The weight is well balanced, and the phone feels reasonably
comfortable to hold and operate.
Samsung Galaxy F12 Performance Expectations
Samsung Galaxy F12 is powered by an 8nm Exynos 850 octa-core chipset that
proved to be a fair entry-grade chipset on the Galaxy M12. There are two storage
options to choose from 64GB and 128GB storage options, each with 4GB RAM and
a dedicated card slot. Day-to-day usage has been smooth so far and we are
expecting the same should support in the long run. We will be starting the phone
to its limit and will get back with more performance stats and gaming experience
in our review later. The phone doesn’t support dual-band Wi-Fi. Other than that we
haven’t run into any connectivity or calling related issues so far.
The primary camera is Samsung GM2, a very modern 48MP sensor. A 5MP wide-
angle camera, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro camera are other customary
sensors forming the quartet. Now, we really don’t expect much in terms of camera
performance in the sub 15K segment, and in our first testing, the Galaxy F12 didn’t
deceive. It’s still too soon to spend on a verdict so you’ll need to wait for our full
review. The camera of the phone is a quad rear camera with 48-megapixel, 5-
megapixel, 2-megapixel and 2-megapixel. The sense of the phone is Samsung
GM2 primary sensor, secondary, macro and depth. It supports the lens of f/2.0,
ultra-wide-angle f/2.2, f/2.4 and f/2.4. There is an 8-megapixel selfie camera for
capturing selfies and videos.
A 6000mAh Battery! That’s enough juice to last you the whole day and more.
With the power-efficient 8nm Exynos Octa-core Processor, multitasking is just a piece of cake!
It’s safety made stylish, with a host of cool features dedicated to protecting your device.
Samsung Galaxy F12 First Impressions
Samsung Galaxy F12 is a definitely affordable phone that has quite a few things
to look ahead to. It offers a 90Hz HRR display on a budget, has appealing software,
and a long-lasting 6000mAh battery. On the downside, a more active and better
quality display would have made F12 a lot more appealing.
With the F12, you’re getting a 6.5-inch waterdrop notch display with FHD+ resolution
and a 90Hz refresh rate. There’s an Exynos 850 at the helm aided by 4GB RAM and
64GB or 128GB of expandable storage. There’s a 48MP main camera on the back
alongside a 5MP ultra-wide snapper, and two 2MP modules for macro shots and
depth data. The battery appears at 6,000 mAh and you get a 15W charger in the box.
